Non Residents Identification Number
NIE or Numero de Identificacion de Extranjero (non-resident’s identification number) – is issued by the National Police of Spain and in accordance to Spanish law is required for the purchase or sale of any real estate within Spain.
The NIE Number itself is issued with the recipients full name (as written in the passport used during the application process), place of birth, nationality, and the number itself, with a stamp and signature provided by the National Police.
